Text Box: “Developing the vine the correct way ” During the first 2 years of vine training we focus on developing a straight trunk and healthy root system. We promote up-right growth by choosing healthy potential trunks, tying them to a post, and placing a grow tube around it. After the vine has developed its roots and trunks, we train each variety to a system that is suitable to develop a fully ripened crop. Sometimes an excess amount of clusters or foliage may need to be removed as well. Throughout the season we determine which varieties need the appropriate measures to produce a balanced crop for the upcoming harvest.
